Treat Farm’s corn maze is finished for 2026, but the family farm on Old Tavern Road in Orange isn’t going anywhere. Its farm stand is still selling pumpkins, mums and fresh-picked produce, and right now the simplest way to help a local farm through a rough patch is to show up and buy something.
The farm shared the bad news in a Facebook post Wednesday night. High winds from the recent nor’easter knocked down large sections of the maze. The family hoped the stalks would stand back up over the week, but, in the farm’s words, “Mother Nature had other plans.” After looking over the field, they decided to close the maze for the rest of the 2026 season, writing that “the safety of our guests has to come first.”
Photos the farm posted with the announcement show long stretches of stalks laid flat across the field.

How to support Treat Farm this fall
The closure covers the maze only. The farm stand is still open, and Treat Farm’s Facebook page listed it as open on Thursday afternoon. According to the farm’s website, fall means seasonal décor grown right on the farm, plus whatever is still coming in from the fields:
- Pumpkins and gourds in all shapes, sizes and colors
- Mums and cornstalks for porches and front steps
- Fresh vegetables, picked daily. The farm says its produce season runs from July through October, with favorites like sweet corn, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and squash
- Greens season in November: collard, mustard and turnip greens, plus cabbage, turnips and winter squash later in the fall

What’s on the table changes with the harvest, so call 203-799-2453 if you’re after something specific.
Treat Farm is at 361 Old Tavern Road in Orange. The hours on its website are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The site labels those as summer hours, so check the farm’s Facebook page or call before a late-day trip.
The farm also hosts group visits beyond the maze. Its Tours and Events page invites schools, companies and organizations to get in touch about school fairs, farm tours, corporate outings and fundraisers.

Refunds for maze reservations
If you booked a maze session, you don’t need to chase anyone down. The farm says it will contact everyone with reservations for upcoming sessions and give full refunds. It will also reach out to groups that made fall reservations. That matters because the maze is a regular stop for school, scout and church outings.
The farm apologized for the disappointment and thanked everyone who walked the maze this year or had planned a visit. About 30 people had commented by Thursday. Most offered sympathy, and plenty said they’d keep shopping at the stand. “I’ll try to make a point to stop at your market soon,” one neighbor wrote. Another said: “Will be seeing you for your other products always.”
Treat Farm calls itself a small, family-owned farm focused on getting produce from its fields to your table quickly. Losing a five-acre maze in the middle of its busiest season is a real blow. A bag of tomatoes, a few mums or a pumpkin for the front step won’t replace it, but it helps.
