Milford has always had a little Stars Hollow in it: the gazebo, the Green, the coffee-in-hand stroll past the shops. On Sunday, Oct. 25, the Downtown Milford Business Association and Sunshine Ceramics Studio are leaning all the way in with Falls Hallow Fest, an afternoon fall festival at the Gazebo on the Milford Green from noon to 5 p.m.
The hosts don’t hide the inspiration. Their Facebook event opens by noting that people are “obsessed” with a TV show “based on a mother/daughter relationship in a fictional town in CT.” Gilmore Girls fans will know exactly which one. The event’s poster leans into it too, with the gazebo framed in orange leaves, a to-go coffee, a pile of cozy sweaters, a stack of books and a record. As of Thursday, Oct. 1, more than 280 people had responded to the event.
What’s planned on the Green
According to the event listing, the afternoon includes a bonfire, live music, coffee and baked goods, pumpkin painting, a vendor market and contests. For anyone who would rather make something, the hosts also list:
- A knit-a-thon
- Journaling
- A bracelet bar and a flannel-patch bar
- Flower crafts
- Pottery painting
The listing promises “and more,” so expect a few surprises once the leaves are down and the bonfire is going.
Before you go
The event listing doesn’t spell out admission or activity pricing, or whether any of the crafts need a sign-up. Check the Facebook event for updates from the hosts before you head downtown.
