Ask Milford where to get the best Chinese food and you’ll get plenty of answers. A recent local Facebook thread on the question drew dozens of comments, and we counted how many of them named each restaurant. One Gulf Street takeout spot came out on top, a scratch-made dumpling shop finished right behind it, and four more places made the top six.

1. Dragon Garden III (10 mentions)

No place came up more. Several readers called Dragon Garden III flat-out the best in town, and some made a point of naming the Gulf Street location. Commenters said good things about the owner, the fair prices, food that tastes the same every time, and a menu big enough to keep regulars trying new things. One comment in the thread was negative, but it was outnumbered.
2. Dumpling House (8 mentions)

Readers who want authentic food sent people here. They said it’s made from scratch, praised the tofu, and liked a menu that mixes unusual dishes with familiar ones. A few mentioned that the staff sometimes make dumplings right in the restaurant.

Several readers said Fuji is their go-to order, and more than one called it the “best around.” The crab Rangoon got called out by name. Fuji also has a Japanese and sushi menu, which helps when the household can’t agree.

Readers called Dragon 168 great, and one put it among their top two in town, especially for takeout.

It’s just over the town line, but China Pavilion still got votes. One fan said it’s “on another level.” Not everyone agreed: two replies said it isn’t what it used to be.
