Parsons Government Center in Milford with an Election 2026 'Your Nov. 3 Ballot' banner for Milford, Orange and West Haven

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3, and early voting runs through next Sunday. Before you go, here’s exactly what will be on your ballot in Milford, Orange and West Haven, taken straight from the official sample ballots the Connecticut Secretary of the State has posted for each town.

Everyone in all three towns votes for governor, Congress and the statewide offices. What changes from street to street is your state representative and, in West Haven, your state senator. West Haven voters also get three city charter questions.

On every ballot in all three towns

Candidates are listed with every party line they appear on. In Connecticut, a candidate’s votes on all their lines are added together.

West Haven’s three charter questions

Every West Haven ballot has three yes-or-no questions on revising the City Charter. Here’s how they read on the ballot:

1. Shall the Charter be revised to create a four-year term for Mayor and Town and City Clerk starting in the 2027 municipal election (Art. II 2(c)(1))?

Question 1

2. Shall the Charter be revised to replace Chapter XX, “Village Improvement Association”, also known as the “VIA” with clearer provisions governing the public library’s operation by a third-party nonprofit (the “VIA”), including its responsibilities, budget obligations, and accountability standards owed to the City (Art. VII, Β§10)?

Question 2

3. Shall the City Charter be updated to clarify the roles and powers of the Mayor, City Council, departments, boards, and commissions, and include other recommendations approved by the Charter Revision Commission and the City Council)?

Question 3

Neither the Milford ballot nor the Orange ballot has any questions this year.
