Fire Engine Pizza Co restaurant at 204 Melba St Milford Connecticut

If you haven’t been to Fire Engine Pizza Co. at 204 Melba Street in Milford yet — first of all, what are you doing? Second, they’re giving you the perfect excuse to finally show up: a free car show in their parking lot with great food, great people, and the kind of neighborhood energy that makes Milford so good.

The Milford location opened in March 2025 inside a converted fire station — yes, a real one — and it’s been a neighborhood hit ever since. Now they’re throwing a car show out front, and honestly, it sounds like one of the best free things happening in Milford this season.

What to Expect at the Car Show

This is a community car show — classics, customs, and everything in between lined up in the Fire Engine Pizza lot. Free to attend, so bring the family, walk the lot, and then head inside for a pie while you’re there. It’s the kind of afternoon that turns into an evening without you really noticing.

If you want to show your car, registration details are on the Facebook event page. Tag the Fire Engine Pizza Co. Milford page when you post your photos.

About Fire Engine Pizza Co. — The Milford Location

The Milford location of Fire Engine Pizza Co. is the third in the chain and the most dramatic by far: the owners spent years converting a defunct fire station on Melba Street into a full-service restaurant and bar. The buildout took longer than expected — they ran into the kind of setbacks that come with transforming a century-old municipal building — but the result is genuinely stunning. You’re eating pizza inside a former fire station. That alone is worth the trip.

The menu leans into the fire station theme with specialty wood-fired pies alongside pastas and Italian-American staples that have become signatures at their Bridgeport and Shelton locations. Highlights include the fresh mozzarella wedge — house-made, oozing with roasted red peppers, basil, garlic, and spinach — Carmine’s Eggplant, Rigatoni Tuscana, and Sunday at Carmela’s, which should tell you everything about the comfort food vibe they’re going for.

Gluten-free options are available. The bar is fully stocked. They’re open late — until 12:30 AM most nights, 1:30 AM on Friday and Saturday. It’s become one of Milford’s go-to late-night spots since opening.

Three Locations, One Brand That Milford Needed

Fire Engine Pizza has built a loyal following across Fairfield County since launching in Black Rock, Bridgeport. The Shelton location followed, and after years of planning and one genuinely difficult buildout, the Milford location opened to a full house in March 2025. It fits Milford perfectly — fun without being precious, neighborhood-first without being basic.
