If you live in Milford and somehow missed that this weekend is Irish Festival weekend — consider this your friendly nudge. The Irish Heritage Society of Milford’s 2026 Annual Irish Festival takes over Fowler Field at 1 Shipyard Lane for two days of live music, Irish dance, marketplace shopping, food trucks, craft beer, and a kids’ play zone that makes it easy to bring the whole crew.

The festival has already earned its local bragging rights: Best of Milford Best Community Event / Festival — first place in 2025, second place in 2026. That’s not press-release fluff. That’s neighbors voting with their feet (and their ballots).

Hours (per the festival’s Festival-News page):
Friday, Sept. 18 — 5 PM to 11 PM
Saturday, Sept. 19 — 11 AM to 10 PM

(Some listings have floated a later Saturday close; the Irish Heritage Society’s Festival-News page currently lists Saturday until 10 PM. Worth a quick check of milfordirish.org/Festival-News before you plan a late night.)

Tickets, parking, and the practical stuff

Admission is straightforward on Eventbrite:

  • Friday: $10
  • Saturday: $10
  • Both days: $15 (two-day pricing ends Friday at 4 PM)
  • Children under 12: free

Tickets: milfordirishfestival2026.eventbrite.com (also linked from the festival site as “Click Here for Tickets”).

Parking is limited — ridesharing is strongly encouraged. The Metro-North New Haven Line stops in downtown Milford, which puts you within walking distance of Fowler Field. Schedules: mta.info/schedules.

One more local tip from the ticket page: beer and wine sales are cash only, with an ATM on site. Plan accordingly.

Main pavilion lineup (MC: Bobby Morrill)

The concert series is the backbone of the weekend. Master of ceremonies Bobby Morrill keeps the main pavilion moving.

Friday night

  • 5:00 – 5:30 PM — Opening ceremonies
  • 5:30 – 6:30 PM — Band O’Brothers
  • 7:00 – 8:30 PM — The Amadáns Band NYC
  • 8:45 – 10:30 PM — Shilelagh Law

Saturday

  • ~11:30 AM — National Anthem / marching-in ceremony by the Fairfield Gaelic Pipe Band
  • 2:00 – 3:30 PM — The Night Visitors
  • 4:00 – 5:30 PM — The Raglan Ramblers
  • 6:00 – 7:30 PM — The Prodigals
  • 8:00 – 9:30 PM — The Canny Brothers Band

If you’re only coming for one set, Saturday’s stretch from the pipes through The Prodigals into The Canny Brothers is worth planning around. Friday’s close with Shilelagh Law is the other “don’t miss” window if you’re more of a night-owl festival person.

Cultural tent: dance, theatre, and traditional sets

Away from the big stage, the cultural tent is where the weekend gets its roots-and-rhythm depth.

Friday

  • 6:30 – 8:30 PM — Sharon and Her Band

Saturday

  • 12:30 – 2:30 PM — Murphy, Ceitinn and Monahan
  • 2:25 – 3:15 PM — Brennan-Lucey Irish Dance Academy
  • 3:20 – 4:00 PM — Tara Theatre Company
  • 4:05 – 4:45 PM — Lenihan School of Irish Dance
  • 5:00 – 7:00 PM — Sharon and Her Band

If you’ve got kids (or just a soft spot for hard-shoe Irish dance), Saturday afternoon in the cultural tent is the sweet spot — dance academies, Tara Theatre, and traditional music stacked back-to-back.

Irish Marketplace, Food Truck Alley, and the kids’ zone

This isn’t just a concert in a field. The festival leans hard into the full-day hang:

  • Irish Marketplace — Celtic-themed vendors curated for the weekend
  • Food court / Food Truck Alley — Irish favorites, local cuisine, and festival staples
  • Kids’ play zone — interactive and dedicated for little festival-goers
  • Craft beers (and wine) — remember: cash only for beer and wine

Marketplace vendors listed for Friday and Saturday

Per the Festival-News page (with “only one spot left” noted at publishing time):

Artitudes · Brack Tours Ireland · Custom Joe Designs · Designs by Diana · Dragonfire Meadery · Eire’s Irish Gifts · Flora Create · Lip Positive Threads · Nayuka Design · Noreen’s Gems · Ogham Art

Food Truck Alley (Friday and Saturday)

Calandrelli Corn · Cousins Maine Lobster · Duffy’s Tavern · Joey C’s · New York Soda Float Company · Silver Sands Pizza

Bring an appetite. Between Duffy’s, Joey C’s, Silver Sands Pizza, and a Maine lobster truck on Fowler Field, you can make a whole afternoon out of grazing before the evening bands.

How to make the most of the weekend

Friday night path: Arrive for opening ceremonies, catch Band O’Brothers, swing by the cultural tent for Sharon and Her Band, then settle in for The Amadáns and Shilelagh Law.

Full Saturday path: Be there for the Fairfield Gaelic Pipe Band around 11:30 AM, wander the marketplace before lunch, spend mid-afternoon in the cultural tent (dance + Tara Theatre), then camp near the pavilion for The Night Visitors through The Canny Brothers Band.

Family path: Saturday daytime — kids’ play zone, Irish dance sets, food trucks, lighter crowds than Friday night’s concert energy.

Either way: tickets ahead, rideshare or Metro-North if you can, and cash for the beer/wine line.
